Remodeling Process
Step 1
COMPLIMENTARY CONSULTATION
Vanguard Homes + Interiors and the client relationship begins with a complimentary consultation. We’ll come to your home or business and assess your wants and needs. You’ll get to meet our team and get to know us and our capabilities. We want to assure you that Vanguard team is an excellent match for your project. As we examine your lifestyle, living patterns and goals of your home or business improvement project we’ll suggest solutions and ideas on how best to move forward. It’s at this initial phase we’ll set realistic expectations discuss lines of communication and work hours, etc. If you are unfamiliar with the remodeling process the different phases can be at times frustrating and it’s our job to prevent that from happening. We want to assure you that high expectations will be met. Preliminary budget will be discussed as well as our general process.
Step 2
DESIGN PRESENTATION AND PRELIMINARY BUDGET
After information is gathered from our first meeting, Vanguard will translate your wants and needs by presenting a professional preliminary design. We’ll discuss the concept behind the designs, materials and selections to be used accompanied by preliminary budgets. Our philosophy about costs and budgeting dictates that we provide you with realistic cost estimates early in the process to eliminate any surprises. Upon approval of the concept and budget, the design process moves to phase three.
Step 3
PERMITS AND PRE-CONSTRUCTION
At this stage we’ll determine what necessary building permits will be needed if any. Building permits are written authorizations issued by the city or county to construct a project. Once permits are issued we’ll proceed to phase four.
Step 4
CONSTRUCTION MEETINGS AND INSPECTIONS
Before construction starts, we’ll hold a pre-construction meeting and cover all of the key information needed to complete your project. We’ll discuss material and tool storage, and dust protection. Prior to closing any walls a pre-drywall meeting will be held to see if any items need attention and at this time the city or county will conduct their own inspection; they’ll ensure the safety of the work and is in compliance with construction codes.
Step 5
QUALITY ASSURANCE WALK-THROUGH
Once your project is complete we will schedule an orientation where you will have opportunities to become familiar with the completed project and create a final to-do list for the contractor. The purpose of the orientation is to make sure any items that needed attention have been completed, make sure everything is operating properly, and to answer any questions you might have.

Step 7
CLOSING
The project closing is the final construction phase. The purpose of the closing is to that you accept the result of the project and are satisfied with the results. It’s at this stage final payment is due for the project.
30-DAY WARRANTY FOLLOW-UP
We’ll let you experience and enjoy your new space for 30 days and schedule a sit down meeting in your home or business to gather feedback on how you feel the project was executed from design through completion and to ensure that all completed work is operating and functioning properly.
